Value-added programmes are courses or activities that go above and beyond the requirements of the standard curriculum to improve our student teachers’ employability, knowledge, and abilities. A wide range of subjects that are closely linked to the teaching profession are covered in value-added curricula. While these value-added courses are not required, it is strongly advised that student teachers take them because they can offer a wealth of advantages and chances. Teachers can benefit from value-added programmes by gaining real-world experience, industry insights, accreditation, technology-integrated teaching and learning, and career counselling. Students can also improve their personal and professional qualities, such as creativity, innovation, problem-solving, teamwork, confidence, and ethics, with the aid of value-added programmes. The programmes imparted topics such as guidance and counselling, communication skills, yoga and health practices, ICT-integrated teaching and learning, personality development, leadership, and so on.
